Neptic (Νηπτική) Psychology – Derived from the Greek word nipsis (νηψις), meaning watchfulness or sobriety, this refers to the ascetic and hesychastic tradition of spiritual vigilance, inner purification, and prayer in the Orthodox Church. Some Orthodox theologians have explored how this relates to mental health.
